Alice In Wonderland

Guapo, Kammi and I headed to the cascades for some mountain air, toasted marshmallows and some alpine lakes. I took a chunk out of my quest to find and photograph all the mushrooms in the Field Guide to the Cascades & Olympics, they were everywhere and beautiful! Lovely times all around!

Guapo!

Sulfur Shelf fungus

Panther Amanita

Woolly Chanterelle

HUGE Mystery Mushroom!

Meadow Mushroom (?)

Don't know what this red gooey stuff is...

King Bolote... awfully cute, no?

Sulfur Tuft

I'm not very good at identifying mushrooms, I have no idea what this is.

Another mystery, but it looks pretty psychedelic!

Fly Amanita

Shaggy Mane

Some sort of cup fungus

Woolly Chanterelle

Gem-Studded Puffball

Dunno.

Good thing the summer isn't taking a bow too quickly in the great northwest, I hope to fit in a few more forest jaunts!

You Do, We Do

Saturday night was the marvelous wedding of my friends Jill and Jason! It was on the beach at Golden Gardens on a beautiful 80 degree day. The reception was at the old brick bath house that sits just off the beach. There was an open bar, drag queen, karaoke, and last but certainly not least, the vodka ice luge. Thanks for a good time guys and CONGRATS!

My friend Kiki and I made all the bouquets!

Inside the bath house! Beautiful!

This is the vodka luge. One is to pour their booze in the top and laugh as it twirls down through the ice and deposits in a waiting cup chilled as the arctic! Then one realizes after a few of these that their head fits where the cup goes and the party progresses!

Lovely evening at the beach. Once again, congratulations!

Cat Lady

I have befriended two stray cats and named them Tiny and Minnie. They are both very very small, skinny and irrefutably charming. Every night I put out food for them and every morning it's gone and I smile. I have a feeling that everyone in the neighborhood is probably feeding them also, but I like to pretend that its only me. I want to take them to the vet to make sure they are spayed and get them flea medicine but it's very difficult to track them down at any specific time so making an appointment seems futile. So, for now we catch glances as I run down my stairs, or longer visits as I water my plants and enjoy each other as casual observers. These are pictures of Minnie, Tiny is all black and is typically found at night, so photos are a little more difficult.

Mainland

My Dad came to visit for a few days! We did and ate it all! We saw a sunset from a different beach almost every night, ate homemade ice cream, flan, crepes and a ton more good foods, went kayaking, antiquing, to a basketball game and all and all had a great time! Here are some sunsets and good times...thanks for a great visit dad!

Kayaking was great! We toured the houseboats on Lake Union then paddled our way through the Montlake cut to Lake Washington and glided through the Arboretum. It was a beautiful warm day until we were heading back when some clouds moved in and kicked up the waves making it a bit of a workout to get home.

Here is my dad eating black licorice ice cream that turned his mouth black. It was pretty terrifying, though would be perfect for halloween!

The sky has been stunning! Come on over and see for yourself!
