See where it says Fort Kochi? That's us! Yesterday when we took the ferry boat to do some shopping, we went over to Ernakulam. We have been doing most of our wandering throughout the top of that Fort Kochi peninsula area. It looks like this...
We are staying on KB Jacob Rd right about where it's labeled. This map only shows the main streets. Inside of those there are more alleyways and little streets each with their own flair for miles and miles! This area is where people visit when they come here. It's the main tourist destination. Sudi says the rest of the area is just a city with not that much to see and too much hustle & bustle. There is a massive art project/show taking place on the peninsula right now called Biennale (http://kochimuzirisbiennale.org) and there are popup art galleries everywhere as well as street art mixed around. It's an interesting contrast to what looks like normal life here. You'll be walking in an old part of town, through an alley of tea traders then suddenly a super modern, flashy art gallery is there. We haven't gone into any yet, maybe tomorrow. There is a main exhibit at a massive building on the waterfront that would be worth it just to go in the old building.
Ok, onto today's pictures!
